Re: Sorry, have to do it.....
Just a little bit of info on what the plan is for the imminent release of the new forums & website.
New Forums
- The focus will be on Mil-Sim for both the web-site and forums
- The existing forums will remain in place for general information and for those not interested in Mil-Sim. There will be a lot of clean-up as sections are moved and/or deleted.
- Access to the new forums will be granted to only those that are members of the Mil-Sim team and you 'must' be active. Special, restricted access will be granted to VIPs if requested.
- All section IC/2IC's will be moderators of both the AB-Airsoft and new forum when complete.
New Web-Site
- Mil-Sim focus!!
- There will be a ton of information and no 'private' areas. General public will have complete access.
- There will be links directing visitors to the general an team forums
- Team member bio's will be requested at some point (so think of what you want said about you)
- Each section of the team, based on location, will be posted to promote the team and assist in recruiting new members
- There will be sections on the site for events, rules, organization, weapons, equipment, fields, membership requirements, reviews, photos, video, sale items and whatever else we can think of.
- There will also be a pay-pal team account with link posted on the site for donations and ease of payment for group orders (where applicable).
- Advertising from outside sources will be permitted but a fee will be charged monthly (team members with a legitimate business will have one free banner add). I also want to keep advertising to Airsoft related businesses if possible. Any business that donates funds to the team will automatically be exempt from above rules and receive free advertising on either the forum or web-site (their choice). Size and duration the add stays up for free will depend on the size of donation.
- Links Page - think this one through. Links to like minded clubs and businesses running adds on our site should be promoted.
Those are the main points.
Now, most importantly, the information on the site has to come from us. I have a lot of info ready to go. However, I know a lot of you have pictures, articles and ideas of your own that should be added to the web-site. All submissions of pictures, documents, video, etc need to go to Kat. I'm hoping to get everyone a sneak peak of the site within the next couple weeks and then go live shortly thereafter.
In the short term, please send any questions, comments, and suggestions to greendevil@ab-airsoft.com

Re: Sorry, have to do it.....
Have you thought of creating a few videos yourself? Either post directly on the website server or via YouTube link?
Maybe we can get Rai-Yan's permission to include his comic somehow?
I've had a few websites (agreenerearth.com) and my karate club for 10+ years nowand also the Metis Delia website; if I can help with anything, cool.
Very exciting Wade, Kat. Can't wait.

Re: Sorry, have to do it.....
We first need a video camera and somebody brave enough to get in the line of fire before we can get some good video. There is some video from MRII that may be usable when it becomes available.
Re: Sorry, have to do it.....
Oh come on. Hauptmann Hoffman would be brave enough to get in front of the camera, surely. I know Stabsfeldwebel Burt definitely isn't.
Re: Sorry, have to do it.....
I am getting an SLR Camera in June and also a new video camera sometime shortly after. I want to make a couple of videos for sure.

*ATTENTION* New Forums are live!
Our new forums are up and appear to be functioning properly.
The new forums are for 'TEAM' members registered and on the section rosters. Guests will have restricted access to the new boards but can at least get an idea of what we're up to.
The REGISTRATION button in at the very bottom of the page.
Registration on the forums is slightly different than in these forums. You must register using the following format;
First name Initial and last name.
Eg: W. Hoffman
Any submission using call signs, nickname or alias will not be verified.
I will slowly be pulling over select posts to this new forum and it may be some time before I allow 'guests' to register on the forum.
The new forum is being dedicated to Mil-Sim so you will find some new areas and some sections have been left off entirely. The current forums (the one you are in now) will remain up indefinitely for general communications and as a gathering place for casual players that are not interested in Mil-Sim.
Please post any feedback and/or suggestions you have about the new forums. There are going to be a number of changes over the next few weeks/months but the basic format will remain the same.
I hope you all enjoy the look and feel.
