Re: Hello from Grande Prairie........
Hi Steve,
Welcome to our site. If I remember right, there were a bunch of players from your neck-of-the-woods at the last RAAT game in Red Deer. Feel free to ask all the questions you like. We are pretty easy going here. Another site you might like to check out is http://www.airsoftcanada.com/forums.php (which appears to be down for maintance at the moment). There are hundreds of airsoft players throught Alberta and if you need any direction to teams or games in your area, feel free to ask and you will be pointed in the right direction.
Thanks for visiting and come back often and ask as many questions as you like.

Thanks GD, I look forward to gaining alot from this site. My luck was somewhat less than stellar on ASC, but I will continue going there lol.... My main goal is to get together a MILSIM team and also do some CQB on the side.

Re: Hello from Grande Prairie........
Hi Steve. There used to be quite an active airsoft community in GP, but it appears to have all but died. I haven't seen you on any of the other forums so here a list.
Grande Prairie "Skunkworx"
http://skunkworxairsoft.hyperboards.com/
Edmonton Airsoft Regiment "EAR" (you'll have to do a proper intro to see the boards)
http://www.edmontonairsoft.net/forums/index.php
Red Deer Airsoft Assault Teams "RAAT" (have to register to see the boards)
http://raat.hyperboards.com/
Joint Operations Calgary "JOC"
http://www.jocairsoft.com/forums/index.php
Airsoft Canada is going through a server change currently and has been experiencing a fair bit of downtime as a result. this should be work out in the next week or so. It's a fantastic site for information, but is not noob friendly. Read lots, search lots but post a lot less. Otherwise, most anyone on any of the other sites will be happy to answer questions. There's a wealth of knowledge in Alberta.

Re: Hello from Grande Prairie........
If you are looking to start your own team from scratch, I wish you luck. Unless you have a solid corps of players ready to form a team or very deep pockets, you are going to have a rough time. Finding AEGs is going to be one of the biggest challanges. Oh, you will need somewhere to play too. I was lucky to have a group of hard corps players to start the Brooks team but it has still been a huge challenge. In the end, I have made some great friends so it has been worth all the pain and loss of family time. Don't get me wrong, we need more new teams out there.
My suggestion would be to get involved with the Skunkworx crew and roll with them until you are ready to start your own team. They were at the RAAT season ender and they are a pretty good bunch. Give them a try. I'm sure Darklen can point you in the right direction.

If you want any pointers on starting a new team you can ask Darklen or myself and we should be able to answer most questions.
New Team.....

Yes, I am seeing that starting a team is gonna be alot of work. There are alot of guys here that are VERY interested, but due to work scheduling etc.... You know, the usual life things that make it hard for people to commit to the things they wanna do. As for a place to play, my girlfriends folks have a nice big piece of land that they said we could use, as long as we didn't shoot at the house or the cars lol....
I think my biggest goal is to try and revive airsoft in Grande Prairie. We had one place that was selling airsoft, but they are getting out of the market so I think that a lack of access to AEG's, pistols etc is a big factor in the death of airsoft in Grande Prairie.
